Check your CV against a job advert: free word match for Ethiopia

Paste your CV and the advert, and see which of the advert's main words you've left out. It won't tell you if you'll get the job, only what's missing.

This tool runs only in your browser. Nothing you type is sent anywhere. No signup.

Paste both texts to see which words from the advert your CV has and which it doesn't.

Take an NGO post asking for MEAL, data collection and Amharic. If your CV says monitoring and doesn't say MEAL or Amharic, a busy reader can miss you, even though you've done the work. Paste both texts here to see the gaps, then add the words only where they're true. Nothing you paste is stored or sent.

What does the check look for?

It compares words and short phrases, and leaves out common words such as the and with. It tells you how many main words of the advert it found in your CV and lists the ones it didn't. There's no score out of 100, because nobody outside the employer knows how a CV gets scored, and a number would only be a guess.

What do adverts in Ethiopia usually ask for?

On our count of 144 adverts for jobs in Ethiopia on 1 November 2026, these came up often. So check them first, then add the words your own field uses.

  • 120 mention a degree, and 88 use the word bachelor
  • 117 mention years of experience
  • 45 use the word master
  • 33 mention Amharic

How do I use the result?

  • Write the qualification as the advert writes it, if it's what you hold
  • Use the same job words: MEAL, not just reporting, if that's your work
  • Move the matching work to the top of your CV
  • Leave out any word that isn't true of you, since the interview will find it

Questions people ask

Is it safe to paste my CV here?

Yes. The check runs in your browser. The text isn't sent to us or saved, and it's gone when you close the page.

Does it read Amharic?

It works best on English. Amharic words are compared as written, so spelling differences can show as missing.

Can it tell me if I'll be shortlisted?

No. It only compares words. Your experience and how you explain it still decide most of it.
