Bank jobs in Ethiopia for fresh graduates: what the adverts ask for

The clearest route we could read is Dashen Bank's: a bachelor's degree, CGPA 2.5, no experience, age 25 or under and six months of training. Here's what to prepare.

The clearest fresh graduate route we could read is Dashen Bank's Customer Service Officer post: a bachelor's degree in a business field, zero experience, not more than 25 years old, and six months of intensive training before you're permanently assigned. One of those adverts also sets CGPA 2.5 or above and takes only graduates of 2025 G.C and 2026 G.C. We read it on the bank's own careers page on 2 November 2026. Applying is free, and nobody should pay for a bank job.

What Dashen Bank's fresh graduate adverts ask for

Dashen listed this post on its careers page on 15 September 2026 for Dessie District and on 20 October 2026 for branches under Mekelle District. The 15 September advert gives the most detail.

  • Post: Customer Service Officer, Maker
  • Degree: bachelor's in a business related field, such as marketing management, accounting, management, economics, business administration or information technology
  • Experience: zero
  • Age: not more than 25
  • CGPA: 2.5 and above
  • Graduation year: 2025 G.C and 2026 G.C only
  • Training: permanently assigned after six months of intensive training

The October advert says the age limit is for external applicants. These are the conditions on two adverts, so read the one you're applying to, since each can change.

The papers to attach

The advert calls these mandatory.

  • Degree certificate with your exit exam result
  • Grade 8, 10 and 12 certificates
  • CV
  • Job application letter

If your age isn't shown on your grade 8 certificate, the advert says to bring your birth certificate. Sort this out early, because a missing certificate can take time to get.

If you don't have a degree

Dashen's Cash Service Attendant post, listed on 20 October 2026, asks for 10+3, Level IV or a diploma in accounting, banking and finance or a related field, with at least two years of relevant experience. So it isn't for someone straight out of college, but it shows a route without a degree. Other posts on the same page, such as software and sourcing roles at head office, ask for four to five years.

Where to look at other banks

On our own count on 1 November 2026, this site had no bank adverts among its 144 roles in Ethiopia. So go straight to the banks' pages, and check them weekly.

Banks we couldn't read

We tried the Commercial Bank of Ethiopia and Wegagen Bank, and their sites didn't open from where we checked. Bank of Abyssinia's career page refused our request. That doesn't mean they aren't hiring, so we simply don't describe their adverts here. Use their official sites or a branch.

If an advert sets a CGPA floor

If an advert sets a floor, the check is simple: you meet it, or you don't. Don't round your CGPA up. If you clear it, put CGPA and your exit exam result beside your degree on your CV, so nobody has to look for them.

Put your internship or class project near the top, even if it's short. Then run your CV against the advert with our word check, and practise the bank questions in our interview tool. They cover the angry customer and the cash that doesn't balance. Our application letter maker writes the letter these adverts ask for.

What about pay?

We have no figure to give you. The adverts we read don't state pay, and we couldn't open an official scale for private banks. If you get an offer, ask for gross pay and how much of it is basic, then use the salary calculator: for example, a gross of 10,000 Birr leaves 7,650 after tax and pension. That's a sum, not what a bank pays.
