Official job portals in Ethiopia: government, airline, bank and AU pages, checked

A list of official vacancy pages, each one opened on 2 November 2026, with what we saw there and how you apply. All of them are free to use.

The safest place to look for a job in Ethiopia is the employer's own vacancy page, and this list has the ones we opened on 2 November 2026. It covers government, the airline, banks, the African Union and others, with what we saw that day. We're not any of these bodies. Applying is free, and nobody should pay for a job. If a link in a message doesn't match one of these addresses, open the site yourself.

Government and public bodies

Public posts come out on their own bodies' pages, and they can be empty for weeks. An empty page doesn't mean no hiring, so check back.

Civil service pay runs on a scale of its own. Our pay guide on the 2018 EC directive explains what it says.

Ethiopian Airlines

The page showed 14 local and 4 international posts. Most local posts register in person, with originals and copies, in a window of about a week. Our separate guide has the age limits and the papers.

Banks

Dashen Bank's page was the only one where we could read the posts. Our guide to bank jobs covers what they asked for.

African Union and United Nations

Addis Ababa hosts the African Union, so AU posts are worth checking if you have the experience. Each body runs its own application form, and a CV alone won't do. Our guide to government, AU and UN jobs explains how.

Skills and work abroad

These two are login apps, so we could open them but couldn't read the steps inside. The labour market system is what Directive 1126/2018 names for registering to work abroad, and the COC portal is for certificates of competence. We don't give exam dates or fees, since we couldn't confirm any.

A private employer's own page

Private firms post on their own career pages too. HEINEKEN's page has a section for Ethiopia, and its early careers page says many of its local companies run their own early career openings, without naming an Ethiopia intake.

Sites that didn't open when we checked

These didn't open from where we checked on 2 November 2026, so we don't describe them. It can be our connection, and it doesn't mean they aren't hiring. Try them on your own connection: the Commercial Bank of Ethiopia, ethio telecom and the Ministry of Labour and Skills. Bank of Abyssinia's career page refused our request, and Safaricom Ethiopia's careers address and Wegagen Bank didn't open. When a site is new to you, search for its name and check the address carefully, since a copy can look the same.

How to use this list well

  • Pick five pages that fit your field and check them every week. Most windows are short
  • Write each application in a tracker, with the closing date and the exam date
  • Keep your papers ready: grade certificates, degree, work experience letters and ID
  • Fit your CV to the advert before you send it
  • Don't pay anyone. If someone says they can get you onto a list, it isn't official

If a page has moved, or you know one we should add, tell us through the contact page.

Frequently asked questions

Where can I find government jobs in Ethiopia?

On the page of the body itself. Start with the Federal Civil Service Commission, and in Addis Ababa the Public Service and Human Resource Development Bureau portal. The second one showed no active vacancies on 2 November 2026, so check back.

Is there one official site for all jobs in Ethiopia?

We didn't find one. The labour market system at lmis.gov.et is a login app, and we couldn't read what's inside. So check each employer's own page.

Are these sites free?

The pages are free to open and read. Applying for a job is free, and nobody should pay for a job.

How can I tell a fake vacancy page?

Open the employer's site by typing its address, don't follow a link from a message. Check the post appears there, and call the office if you're unsure. Our scam check has the warning signs.
