# Job interview questions in Ethiopia: prepare with real examples

Where to start

Do not assume every employer uses the same interview. Ethiopian Airlines' official vacancies and results pages illustrate how an employer can publish registration, document verification and interview stages separately. Follow the current notice for your role. International employers may use online assessments; the UN's application guide explains its own process.

Prepare four truthful examples before the interview: a problem you solved, a task you completed under pressure, a time you learned a new skill and a situation in which you worked with others. For each, say what the situation was, what *you* did and what changed. If the role is technical, revisit the equipment, software or procedures named in the vacancy. Do not invent years of experience to match a requirement.

Common prompts include “Why this role?”, “Tell us about a mistake and what you changed,” and “How would you handle an urgent request?” A useful answer connects the question to the employer's actual work. For a first job, examples from training, volunteering or a class project can be valid if you explain your own contribution and outcome.

Before attending, confirm the venue, time, identity documents and language from the employer's official invitation. If the instruction came through a message, verify it against the careers page or published contact. Bring originals only if the verified employer asks to inspect them; keep control of your documents.

Ask about the first months of the role, supervision and next steps. Afterward, note which questions were difficult and improve your examples. Interview preparation is a skill you can reuse, even if this particular application does not succeed.
